NaPoWriMo Entry #13: Another Shade of Rebellion

Another Shade of Rebellion

Teenage rebellion is a shade of red not drawn for me.
You like to take away the lights that let me see.
Burning all of the photographs I ever took with you.
You know in your heart that your head's not true.

Now I'm turning baby blue
Just thinking of complacency
It's up to me to change the hue
They'll say it's just a fantasy
I know just what I've got to do

Gimme another shade of rebellion, another shade of rage
Another shock to the system, a death to set the stage.
A fool's young heart to dirty, throw a wrench to the machine.
A stain on your white t-shirt, that you're never gonna clean.
