Pigs of Filth/ A Heaven Uncentered

When the blackbird flies on the other side
Of the night between my life and death
There's no difference between seagulls and God
No difference between seagulls and God
Paint me black
I'm red, black and you
the line that he won't cross
Off his list of the broken

Shells litter the streets
and bombs burst as crickets chirp
A mile and a day they say
A mile and a moon away

Blood in the oven
With eggs on the brain
You gave me a mask
Told me to keep safe
And you were on your way

Riding through the ghetto
Blasting the good word into the ears of sinners
Cutting faith into the arms of the weak
One drink in the belly of the beast
It makes you speak the words
You wish you could unlearn
And you said....

Rue the day they took it all away
Avenge the day they took it all away
They took my pride and joy away

Two tremendous tears trickled down your face
You've lost it all, a freak with a burning flag
Running out of the bar, onto an empty street
Tears of joy, vomiting in fear
Falling onto your knees
Praying to the beast you hold divine

Eight hours later, you wake
Tighten your tie, you go to work
Another night in the gutter
Or an open ended ticket home?
